- New positive patients decreased in both Delhi and Mumbai metros
- 4,000 corona cases came down in Delhi, infection rate was 30.64 percent
- 11,317 new cases were reported in Mumbai, which was 17 percent less
Corona cases are still increasing in the country, but in the last 24 hours, there has been a big decline in the number of new patients in Delhi and Mumbai. In such a situation, questions are being raised whether the peak of corona has come in both the metros or have the corona tests decreased only? After facing two waves of Corona, the matter of sudden decline in this third wave in two big cities of the country is currently unclear.
On Friday, 2.70 lakh new cases of infection were reported in India, which was slightly more than 2.64 lakh a day earlier. Testing has also decreased across the country, which was 18.86 lakh a day ago and 17.87 lakh on Friday.
condition of corona in delhi
On Friday, 24,383 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in Delhi and 34 patients died, while the infection rate increased to 30.64 percent. The number of new cases remained lower than on Thursday, but the infection rate has increased. On Thursday, 28,867 cases of Kovid-19 were reported in Delhi, which was the highest increase in a day since the start of the pandemic. At the same time, 31 patients had died and the infection rate was 29.21 percent.
The cases of Kovid-19 are increasing rapidly in the capital but there is nothing to worry as the rate of admission and death of patients in hospitals is very low. The government has made all the preparations and there are enough beds in the hospitals. Restrictions will be tightened only if needed, but if there is a decrease in the cases of corona, then we will relax the restrictions.

9 patients died in Mumbai
On Friday, 11,317 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in Mumbai, which is 17.60 percent less than the cases reported a day earlier, while nine more patients have died. Corona tests decreased in both the cities in the last 24 hours, while a lot of tests were being done in the last eight days.
There is a significant difference in the Covid data of both the cities. The test positivity rate (TPR-percentage of Covid positive out of testing) in Mumbai seems to be declining, while in the national capital it is steadily increasing. Mumbai recorded the highest TPR (in the last eight days) at 28.95 percent on January 7, which came down to 20.6% on Friday.
On the other hand, the TPR in Delhi stood at 30.64 per cent on Friday, which is the highest in the capital in recent months. On Friday, 79,578 tests were conducted in Delhi, which is the second lowest figure in the last eight days.
Corona peak arrived in Mumbai?
At the same time, 54,924 tests were conducted in Mumbai, which is the lowest in the last eight days. The data shows that if more tests are done, then more number of cases will be detected in both the cities. But the fall in TPR indicates that the peak may have arrived in Mumbai while Delhi is yet to come. Every third sample came positive in the national capital on Friday and the daily TPR is increasing continuously.
deaths are also increasing
Meanwhile, both the big cities have seen more deaths on Friday. Although compared to the second wave, it will be said to be much less. With 34 deaths, the death toll in Delhi was the highest among all states on Friday. Mumbai recorded 9 deaths, the highest in five months in the city. There were 217 deaths in the country on Friday i.e. more than 200 deaths occurred for the third consecutive day.

35 doctors said, do not repeat those mistakes
On the other hand, a group of 35 big doctors has made an important appeal to the central government, states and the Indian Medical Association. In a letter, he has asked to stop such drugs and tests, which are not necessary in the treatment of corona. Doctors have expressed concern even after being admitted to the hospital without any reason. Doctors say that the government is making the same mistake it did in the second wave.
